The aim of this dissertation is to present Foreign Language Teaching and the concept of giftedness, starting from the first theories until the more recent studies, in order to give at least a basic knowledge of this concept, considering that it is not well known in Italy, also in the scholastic environment. The first part introduces the Language Teaching, starting from a historical view of the methods, aimed to understand how they evolved into the current methods, that try also to meet the needs of a world constantly and rapidly changing and evolving. Afterwards, we will explain the studies and theories about giftedness and then the teaching strategies that have been developed for this profile, in an inclusive perspective, focusing on Language teaching and English Language teaching. Finally, we will present a didactic trial in English language in two first year classes in the lower secondary school (UK: year 7).
