This thesis aims to examine the process that led to the liberation of Algeria, focusing on the opposition of the occupied people and on the attempts by the French occupying force to counter the revolts which, irreparably, will lead to the outbreak of the bloody Algerian war in 1954 which lasted 8 years and ended with the achievement of its independence. Starting from the fall of the regency in 1830, it analyzes the various events that led to the claims of the Algerian people, the uprisings, the battles of the liberation movement led by the militants and the resulting bloody and inhuman repression perpetrated by the French army until finally arriving, not without difficulties and sacrifices, to achieve Algerian emancipation.
