The President of the Republic is required to manage his powers with extreme balance, being a super partes figure, placed outside the tripartition of the powers: legislative, executive and judicial. The thesis will provide an institutional framework for the role and functions of the President of the Republic defined by the Constitution, and together with this framework, also a "historical" analysis of the Presidency. Subsequently, the central element of analysis will focus on the relationship between the President of the Republic and the Government, also focusing on the critical aspects of this relationship.

Il Presidente della Repubblica è tenuto a gestire con estremo equilibrio i propri poteri, essendo una figura super partes, posta al di fuori della tripartizione dei poteri: legislativo, esecutivo e giudiziario. La tesi fornirà una cornice istituzionale del ruolo e delle funzioni del Presidente della Repubblica definite dalla Costituzione, e insieme a tale cornice, anche un’analisi “storica” della Presidenza della Repubblica. Successivamente, l’elemento centrale dell’ analisi verterà sul rapporto tra il Presidente della Repubblica e il Governo, concentrando l’attenzione anche sulle criticità di tale rapporto.
