In recent years, the global economy has undergone a revolution that has compelled numerous companies to expand their operations through acquisitions or entry into new markets. This expansion aims to disseminate products and services to increase revenues and profits. However, this growth and diversification have brought with them the complexity of managing and integrating business processes within organizations. To address this challenge, information systems such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) have played a crucial role. ERP enables the integration and coordination of various business processes, offering organization and simplification of daily workflows. This allows companies to achieve efficiency, competence, and effectiveness in their operations. This thesis aims to analyze and delve into the opportunities offered by different ERP systems, highlighting their advantages and disadvantages for businesses, with a particular focus on Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). SMEs, being companies with limited workforce and predetermined financial resources, often face difficulties in accessing capital. Therefore, it is crucial that they can derive significant benefits through the implementation of ERP management systems in terms of resource optimization and support for business functions. Through this research, different aspects of ERP systems will be thoroughly examined, focusing on the peculiarities of SMEs. The benefits that implementing an ERP system can offer these companies, such as increased operational efficiency, improved resource management, cost reduction, and enhanced competitiveness, will be explored in detail. At the same time, the disadvantages and challenges that SMEs may encounter in the adoption and implementation of cloud ERP will also be identified and analyzed. By utilizing case studies, concrete experiences of companies that have implemented cloud ERP will be presented, highlighting the achieved results and lessons learned during the transition process. Differences between integrated traditional ERP systems and cloud ERP will also be considered, with a focus on the distinctive features of the latter and the reasons why more and more SMEs prefer it. In conclusion, this research aims to provide an in-depth analysis of the opportunities offered by cloud ERP for SMEs, while shedding light on the advantages and disadvantages of such a system. L'espansione delle aziende e la crescente complessità dei processi aziendali hanno reso cruciale l'implementazione di sistemi informativi efficaci, come l'Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). Questo lavoro di tesi si concentra sull'analisi delle opportunità offerte dai sistemi ERP alle Piccole e Medie Imprese (PMI), che spesso devono gestire limitate risorse finanziarie. L'obiettivo principale è comprendere i vantaggi e gli svantaggi dell'implementazione dei sistemi ERP, con un focus particolare sul cloud ERP. Attraverso una ricerca approfondita, saranno esplorati i diversi aspetti dei sistemi ERP, con una considerazione speciale per le esigenze delle PMI. Saranno analizzati i benefici che l'implementazione di un sistema ERP può apportare a queste imprese, come l'ottimizzazione delle risorse, l'aumento dell'efficienza operativa, la riduzione dei costi e l'aumento della competitività. Allo stesso tempo, verranno esaminati anche gli svantaggi e le sfide che le PMI potrebbero incontrare durante l'adozione del cloud ERP.
