The present experimental thesis project focuses on the synthesis, characterization and stability, by 1H and 13C-NMR analysis, of N-heterocyclic carbene complexes of Ag(I) and Au(I) functionalized with the sulfoxide group. The corresponding antitumor activity against different tumor cell lines was evaluated in both two- and three-dimensional models; the mechanism of action was also investigated.
Il presente progetto di tesi sperimentale si focalizza nella sintesi, caratterizzazione e stabilità, mediante analisi 1H e 13C-NMR, di complessi carbenici N-eterociclici di Ag(I) e Au(I) funzionalizzati con il gruppo solfossido. E’ stata valutata la corrispondente attività antitumorale nei confronti di diverse linee cellulari tumorali sia in modelli bidimensionali che tridimensionali; è stato inoltre indagato il meccanismo d’azione.
