Sviluppo tecnologico e realtà industriale italiana: la Società Olivetti negli anni del secondo dopoguerra

The thesis examines the technological development achieved by the Olivetti company between the Second World War and the early nineties of the twentieth century. First of all, the history of the Olivetti family from an entrepreneurial point of view will be addressed, the birth of the company and its goals. A description of the figure of Adriano Olivetti will follow, focusing attention on the innovations that occurred during his administration, including the "Lettera 22" and the company's entry into the electronics sector. the situation created after Adriano's death will then be examined, in particular the figure of the engineer Perotto, his team and the “Programma 101”. In conclusion, the events of the company in the 1980s will be analysed.

La tesi prende in esame lo sviluppo tecnologico realizzato dalla società Olivetti tra la Seconda Guerra Mondiale e i primi anni Novanta del XX secolo. Si andrà a trattare in primis la storia della famiglia Olivetti dal punto di vista imprenditoriale, quindi creazione della società e scopi. Seguirà una descrizione della figura di Adriano Olivetti, focalizzando l’attenzione sulle innovazioni avvenute durante la sua amministrazione, tra cui la “Lettera 22” e la discesa in campo della società nel settore elettronico. Si andrà quindi a prendere in esame la situazione creatasi dopo la morte di Adriano, in particolare la figura dell’ingegnere Perotto, della sua squadra e della “programma 101”. In conclusione, saranno analizzate le vicende della ditta negli anni Ottanta del Novecento.
