In this experimental thesis project the antiproliferative activity of new complexes based on Cu(I) and Ag(I) functionalized with b-diketone ligands in 2D and 3D cell models and their mechanism of action was evaluated. In 2D systems the cytotoxic activity was evaluated with the MTT test, while in 3D systems with the APH assay. As regards the studies on the mechanism of action, the ability to interfere with PDI was evaluated for the Cu(I)-based complexes, while for the Ag(I)-based complexes the ability to inhibit the thioredoxin system .
In questo progetto di tesi sperimentale è stata valutata l'attività antiproliferativa di nuovi complessi a base di Cu(I) e Ag(I) funzionalizzati con leganti b-dichetonici in modelli cellulari 2D e 3D e il loro meccanismo d'azione. Nei sistemi 2D l'attività citossica è stata valutata con l'MTT test, mentre nei sistemi 3D con l'APH assay. Per quanto riguarda gli studi sul meccanismo d'azione, per il complessi a base di Cu(I) è stata valutata la capacità di interferire con la PDI, mentre per i complessi a base di Ag(I) la capacità di inibire il sistema tioredossinico.
Nuovi complessi metallici di Cu(I) e Ag(I) con leganti b-dichetonici come potenziali agenti antitumorali: valutazione dell'attività antiproliferativa e del meccanismo d'azione in modelli cellulari.
