The research explores the role, responsibility and impact of international media in reporting on different humanitarian crises, where armed conflict is at the center. The research also explores the media’s influence in informing the public and creating a public discourse around solutions to end armed conflict and reduce humanitarian aid. Specifically, the impact of news and coverage of some of the largest humanitarian crises today, Ukraine, Afghanistan, Yemen, Myanmar, Ethiopia, and the allocation of humanitarian aid to these countries. Furthermore, the research describes the principles of ethical reporting and analyzes examples of propaganda and other harmful media practices that possibly still derail peace processes surrounding these conflicts, especially in Ukraine. Finally, the author gives recommendations for humanitarian reporting, based on the good practices drawn from the example of reporting on the Ukraine crisis and instigating support for the Ukrainian community worldwide.

Furthermore, the research describes the principles of ethical reporting and analyzes examples of propaganda and other harmful media practices that possibly still derail peace processes surrounding these conflicts, especially in Ukraine. Finally, the author gives recommendations for humanitarian reporting, based on the good practices drawn from the example of reporting on the Ukraine crisis and instigating support for the Ukrainian community worldwide.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
