This presentation aims to highlight how a careful choice of the hearing aid contralateral to the cochlear implant in cases of bimodal stimulation brings clear advantages also in relation to the "school system" in pediatric application. A general introduction was given on the anatomy and physiology of the ear, followed by the various classifications on the type and extent of hearing loss. The main characteristics of cochlear implants, their applicability and selection criteria, bimodal and infantile stimulation were highlighted. The so-called living guidelines for cochlear implants (attached to this document), formulated by the team of international experts called CI Task Force, were cited in relation to follow-up and rehabilitation after cochlear implant grafting. Finally, two clinical cases of infantile bimodal stimulation were treated, in which the importance of the choice of hearing aid was highlighted.

Abstract
Finally, two clinical cases of infantile bimodal stimulation were treated, in which the importance of the choice of hearing aid was highlighted.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
