Violence in the healthcare sector is a severe and widespread phenomenon throughout the world. In the three-year period 2019-2021, 4,821 injuries related to episodes of violence were reported and recognized. Healthcare personnel are among the most exposed to these episodes and harassment in the workplace, as they deal with people, the patients, family members or caregivers, who may find themselves in conditions of delicate psychophysical balance conditioned by strong emotionality, vulnerability or, in some cases, even frustration. In particular, there are emergency departments (DEA), characterized by a large number of daily accesses, situations with a high emotional content, and stress linked to the management of diagnostic-therapeutic-assistance priorities.
