If it is true that over the years, wars are fought with increasingly innovative and technological weapons and tools, it is equally true that there are means of destruction that systematically recur in belligerent situations, such as rape. A constant of wars, they represent an instrument of destruction and cancellation of an entire people, of their customs, their values, their beliefs. This practice ensures that women's bodies become a place of conflict, where the victim is dominated by a cultural script that uses her as a means to stain and destroy the community of which she is part. This is how the physical destruction of the woman becomes a symbol of the destruction of the enemy nation: by attacking her body, the opponent is destroyed from within. The consequences of the mass rapes that took place during the civil conflict in the former Yugoslavia were disastrous, in which we witnessed the creation of rape camps specifically designed to impregnate Bosnian Muslim women, with the ultimate aim of "producing a Serb", so as to stain the offspring of the enemy nation and make it disappear. In this thesis project, the objective pursued was to understand the motivations that push men to almost always opt for the use of this weapon; analyze the logic, the ways in which mass rapes occurred in the Yugoslav context, and then focus on the difficulties of reconstruction once the conflict is over.

Abstract
In this thesis project, the objective pursued was to understand the motivations that push men to almost always opt for the use of this weapon; analyze the logic, the ways in which mass rapes occurred in the Yugoslav context, and then focus on the difficulties of reconstruction once the conflict is over.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
