La rilevanza strategica di Taiwan nello scacchiere internazionale: la minaccia militare cinese

The thesis focuses on the relevance of Taiwan in the world and its fundamental role in the economic sphere. Historical and legal issues are covered, such as the peculiar international status of Taiwan, but also in the geopolitical and military context. The objective of the thesis is to show the great importance of the island for both China and the United States, but also to show the possible consequences that could arise following an armed conflict between the Beijing and Taipei governments.

La tesi si concentra sulla rilevanza di Taiwan nel mondo e del suo fondamentale ruolo in ambito economico. Vengono trattate tematiche storiche e giuridiche come è per il peculiare status internazionale di Taiwan, ma anche in ambito geopolitico e militare. L'obiettivo della tesi è mostrare la grande importanza dell'isola sia per la Cina che per gli Stati Uniti, ma anche mostrare le possibili conseguenze che potrebbero sorgere in seguito ad un conflitto armato tra il governo di Pechino e di Taipei.
