The aviation industry, in response to the growing need to reduce carbon emissions, is exploring the use of new alternative fuels. These fuels, known as Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF), represent a promising avenue for mitigating the climate impact. The following study aims to analyze the effects resulting from the use of SAF on the performance of turbofan and turbojet aircraft engines, with a focus on the interaction of combustion gases with the turbine. The types of biofuels are examined, paying particular attention to their properties and their impact on emission principles and pollutant formations in aircraft.
L'industria dell'aviazione, in risposta alla crescente necessità di ridurre le emissioni di carbonio, sta esplorando l’impiego di nuovi carburanti alternativi. Questi carburanti, noti come biocombustibili sostenibili per l'aviazione (SAF), rappresentano una via promettente per la mitigazione dell'impatto climatico. Il seguente studio si pone l’obbiettivo di analizzare gli effetti derivanti l’utilizzo dei SAF sulle prestazioni di turbofan e turbogetti aeronautici, focalizzandosi sull’interazione dei gas combusti con la turbina. Vengono esaminate le tipologie dei biocombustibili, ponendo particolare riguardo nei confronti delle loro proprietà e dell’impatto sui principi di emissione e sulle formazioni inquinanti degli aeromobili.
