Abstract
The aim of this study is to detect whether there is a different specificity and sensitivity in the diagnosis of apical lesions between orthopantomography and cone beam computed tomography. Radiographic imaging is a resource for diagnosis, prognosis and treatment in dentistry. Two-dimensional digital x-rays and panoramics (OPT) they often show image distortion, which is why today many periapical lesions are underestimated; another method used for diagnosis is cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) The search was carried out using the following terms "periapical lesion in CBCT", "apical bone defects", periapical periodontitis", periapical lesion in OPT", "CBCT", "endodontic treatment", "panoramic radiography" in the most used databases such as the national library of medicine (pubmed), Google Scholar, …….
