Eating Disorders (ED) are complex and multifactorial psychiatric pathologies, characterized by a persistent alteration of eating habits and excessive concern for weight, which is often accompanied by an altered perception of the body image and low levels of self-esteem. According to DSM-5, Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa, are the eating disorders that have the highest mortality rate. The recent Covid-19 global pandemic, has affected and disrupted the entire general population, and it also had a significant impact on the symptomatology and onset of EDs, in particular in patients with anorexia nervosa,in some cases it has exacerbated the symptoms already present or revealed new clinical aspects that were latent. In this thesis project, were used and discussed the results of a study conducted by the Regional Center for Eating Disorders of the University of Padua, comparing two groups of patients, with diagnosis of anorexia nervosa and other eating disorders, in the pre-pandemic and post-pandemic period. From the results of this study the aim of the thesis, was to investigate how the professional figure of the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Technician, can be adapted to the needs and differences that the Covid pandemic has generated in patients with anorexia nervosa and eating disorders in general.
