L'infermiere di famiglia e di comunità in Italia e nel Regno Unito

Problem: The increase in life expectancy and the change in the causes of death have caused the emergence of new health needs and new healthcare needs. The epidemiological scenarios of Italy and the United Kingdom are reported in this review. The response to these needs is given by WHO in the Health 21 document, with the proposal of a new nursing figure: the family and community nurse. Methods: Following the formulation of the PICO, WHO documents, guidelines, statistical data, regional resolutions and legislative decrees, texts, online journal articles were consulted through the Google search engine. Subsequently, the PubMed database was used, through the MeSH Database, introducing the keywords, using Boolean operators. Results: Through this literature review, the response that the two countries covered by the study give in clinical practice is investigated, with the beginning of the family and community nurse in Italy, recently created, and with the presence of the Public Health Nurse and the Community Nurse in the UK. Conclusions: In the United Kingdom, the presence of the family nurse and the community nurse has been consolidated for years through the Public Health Nurse and the Community Nurse and therefore the assistance suggested by the WHO to respond to care needs related to non communicable diseases is already in place. In Italy this process is in the implementation phase, therefore a response extended to the entire territory of the regions is still missing.

Problema: L’allungamento dell’aspettativa di vita e il cambiamento delle cause di morte hanno causato la nascita di nuovi bisogni di salute e di nuovi bisogni assistenziali. Vengono riportati gli scenari epidemiologici di Italia e Regno Unito. La risposta a questi bisogni viene data dall’OMS nel documento Health 21, con la proposta di una nuova figura infermieristica: l’infermiere di famiglia e di comunità. Materiali e metodi: A seguito della formulazione del PICO sono stati consultati documenti dell’OMS, linee guida, dati statistici, delibere regionali e decreti legislativi, testi, articoli di riviste online, attraverso il motore di ricerca Google. In seguito è stata utilizzata la banca dati PubMed, attraverso il MeSH Database, introducendo le parole chiave, utilizzando operatori booleani. Risultati della ricerca: Attraverso la revisione di letteratura viene indagata la risposta che i due Paesi oggetto dello studio danno nella pratica clinica, con la nascita dell’infermiere di famiglia e di comunità in Italia, di recente realizzazione, e con la presenza del public health nurse e del community nurse nel Regno Unito. Discussione e conclusioni: Nel territorio del Regno Unito la presenza dell’IFoC è una realtà consolidata da anni attraverso il public health nurse e il community nurse e quindi il tipo di assistenza suggerita dall’OMS per rispondere ai bisogni assistenziali legati alla cronicità è già in atto. In Italia questo processo è in fase di attuazione, manca quindi ancora una risposta estesa a tutto il territorio delle regioni.
