This work presents an in-depth analysis of the historical context surrounding the Holodomor, aiming to reevaluate its classification as a genocide and examine the intricate politics of memory and denial associated with it. From a contemporary and research-driven standpoint, the thesis also aims to present the findings of an extensive survey conducted within Ukrainian and Russian populations, shedding light on prevailing trends and potential divergences in the remembrance of the Holodomor. Overall, this study offers a comprehensive investigation into the enduring significance of the Holodomor, unveiling its historical, political, and social dimensions. By bridging the past with the present, it contributes to a deeper understanding of the complex interplay between history, memory, and contemporary discourse.
