This thesis addresses the issue of life satisfaction among the elderly by hypothesizing a relationship with being active. The topic is of considerable importance in Italy, since the population is aging and in order to ensure greater independence for the elderly and optimize their quality of life, it is necessary to analyze and measure it. An appropriate measure of well-being is perceived satisfaction. In this thesis, we consider this aspect and its association with an active lifestyle, as is suggested by the literature, which lists social, recreational and productive activities among the determinants of life satisfaction. After describing these definitions and concepts, data from the 2021 Istat "Aspects of Daily Life" questionnaire are considered. The results of regression models are mostly consistent with studies on the topic: among the variables with a stronger association with satisfaction are social activities such as physical activity and religious participation.
