This thesis is based on a clinical study conducted on 619 patients with asthma, the aim is to obtain a better understanding of the causes and verify the effectiveness and safety of the treatments administered, with the ultimate goal of improving the quality of life of patients. The purpose is to raise awareness of the importance of ongoing research in this field, in order to develop new therapeutic strategies aimed at patients with small airways dysfunction in order to have a deeper knowledge of this topic. In the first chapter, small airway dysfunction (SAD) is illustrated with appropriate medical references. The dataset structure is also presented. In the second chapter, the first exploratory analyses on the data are carried out, together with the correlation analysis between the variables and some tests. Graphs and the related comments are also reported. The third chapter proposes a model of logistic regression for the data examined, in order to identify which of the variables influences the results most. The conclusions summarize the various methods of study applied for the data under examination and then summarize briefly the results obtained from the various calculations.
