The claim of this work is to critically reflect on the policies for Independent Living in the Veneto Region, highlighting the results achieved, differences and critical issues in comparison with countries and territorial realities in which a Bottom-up Movement for Independent Living has developed, managed by people with disabilities. In particular, the case of study relating to an Independent Living project promoted by a cooperative in Alta Padovana area will be analyzed through qualitative research based on semi-structured interviews conducted with operators and beneficiaries of the service. The good practices and limits of the project in promoting self-determination and deinstitutionalization of the people with disabilities involved will be also discussed.
La tesi si propone di riflettere criticamente sulle politiche per la Vita Indipendente della Regione Veneto, evidenziando i risultati raggiunti, le differenze e le criticità rispetto a Paesi e realtà territoriali in cui si è sviluppato un Movimento per la Vita Indipendente dal basso, gestito da persone con disabilità. Si analizzerà in particolare il case of study relativo a un progetto di Vita Indipendente realizzato da una cooperativa dell’Alta Padovana attraverso una ricerca qualitativa basata su interviste semi-strutturate condotte con operatori e beneficiari del servizio, analizzando le capacità e i limiti del progetto nel promuovere l’autodeterminazione e la de-istituzionalizzazione delle persone con disabilità coinvolte.
