Rapid technological advances and increasing digitization have caused profound changes in the perspective with which publishing companies conceive, structure and implement their business models. This transformation is not limited to adaptation to new technologies, but embraces an in-depth reflection on business strategies, the models under comparison and the professional figures involved. The objective of this thesis is to explore the conception of the Business Model in the publishing context, focusing on comparative models such as Traditional Business and Network Business, Circular Business, and 4.0. This study aims to analyze the importance of the business figures involved in the transformation process, emphasizing how adaptation to the Digital Revolution is a crucial element for the success of publishing companies. It will also explore the changes in consumer attitudes and their impact on the market strategies adopted by leading publishing companies. A special focus will be devoted to the dilemma in the application of Artificial Intelligence software and chatbots in the business context. This evolving topic raises important ethical and organizational issues, influencing the very definition of business models. To fully understand the publishing context, the research will examine the different stages of the market, with a special focus on the dynamics involving Mondadori Group, De Agostini and RCS MediaGroup. Each of these entities will be scrutinized in the context of its core business, with the aim of capturing the challenges and opportunities that arise in the contemporary publishing landscape. Finally, the thesis aims to define and analyze the key indices for evaluating corporate performance in the industry, providing a useful assessment tool to fully understand the competitive position of companies in the publishing market. In conclusion, this research aspires to offer a comprehensive overview of the dynamics that shape the modern publishing world, contributing to the understanding of the key factors that drive the success or challenge of companies in the industry.
Nell'attuale contesto digitale, il settore editoriale emerge come un ambito fertile per l'analisi delle dinamiche connesse alla concezione del Business Model. I rapidi progressi tecnologici e la crescente digitalizzazione hanno provocato profondi mutamenti nella prospettiva con cui le aziende editoriali concepiscono, strutturano e implementano i loro modelli di business. Questa trasformazione non si limita all'adattamento alle nuove tecnologie, ma abbraccia una riflessione approfondita sulle strategie aziendali, i modelli a confronto e le figure professionali coinvolte. L'obiettivo della tesi è esplorare la concezione del Business Model nel contesto editoriale, mettendo a fuoco modelli a confronto quali il Business Tradizionale e il Business di Rete, Circolare e 4.0. Questo studio si propone di analizzare l'importanza delle figure aziendali coinvolte nel processo di trasformazione, sottolineando come l'adattamento alla Rivoluzione digitale sia un elemento cruciale per il successo delle aziende editoriali. Inoltre, si approfondirà l'analisi dei cambiamenti negli atteggiamenti dei consumatori e del loro impatto sulle strategie di mercato adottate dalle principali realtà editoriali. Un focus particolare sarà dedicato al dilemma nell'applicazione di software di Intelligenza Artificiale e Chatbot nel contesto lavorativo. Questo tema, in continua evoluzione, solleva importanti questioni etiche e organizzative, influenzando la stessa definizione dei modelli di business. Per comprendere appieno il contesto editoriale, la ricerca esaminerà le diverse fasi del mercato, con un'attenzione particolare alle dinamiche che coinvolgono Gruppo Mondadori, De Agostini e RCS MediaGroup. Ciascuna di queste realtà sarà scrutinata nel contesto del suo core business, allo scopo di cogliere le sfide e le opportunità che si presentano nel panorama editoriale contemporaneo.
