The data produced in recent years regarding the number of newly detected cases of eating disorders is worrying. In pre-adolescent and adolescent age, cases are increasing greatly. This research aims to investigate the literature produced on promotion and intervention programs created to combat this emergency in the school setting, aimed at providing knowledge and tools for school staff to handle cases of body image-related distress in the best possible way. The results are not satisfactory: in the majority of cases, the proposed intervention programs are not effective enough to create a real impact and are not lasting in their effects. The challenge that needs to be set is the design of new intervention programs that can prove to be effective as they are created taking into account also in the socio-cultural context in which they are administered, taking advantage of the advice and requests of teachers, who in the school environment are the experts in the field regarding the specific school culture of the place.
I dati prodotti negli ultimi anni riguardanti il numero di nuovi casi di disturbi alimentari rilevati è preoccupante. In età pre-adolescenziale e adolescenziale i casi sono in grande aumento. Questa ricerca si pone l'obiettivo di indagare la letteratura prodotta sui programmi di promozione e intervento creati per combattere questa emergenza nell'ambito scolastico, volti a fornire conoscenze e strumenti allo staff scolastico per gestire nel miglior modo possibile i casi di disagi legati all'immagine corporea. I risultati non sono soddisfacenti: nella maggioranza dei casi i programmi di intervento proposti hanno un'efficacia non sufficiente a creare un impatto concreto e non sono duraturi nei loro effetti. La sfida che bisogna porsi è l'ideazione di nuovi programmi di intervento che possano dimostrarsi efficaci in quanto creati tenendo conto anche nel contesto socio-culturale nel quale vengono somministrati, sfruttando i consigli e le richieste degli insegnanti, che in ambiente scolastico sono gli esperti di settore per quanto riguarda la cultura scolastica specifica del luogo.
