This thesis aims to present mysticism as the root of philosophical thought in order to place the experience of Esther Hillesum, who realized one of the most important mystical experiences of the european twentieth century, within this theoretical framework. In the beginning the mysticism of thought and the figure of the mystic in presented, subsequently the attention shifts to the very particular experience of Etty Hillesum, who internally discovers in her daily life the ‘very light norm’ that Rainer Maria Rilke talks about: ‘God’. ‘God or who for it’ is understood by Hillesum as the root of Being, which finds its home in the deepest part of her like of other human being. Etty works to dig up God from her heart. Subsequently I will focus on the mysticism of love and on the mystical language in the affective dimension of love. In this regard, an investigation will be carried out to understand how Etty’s exercise of charity is identifiable with the àgape mentioned by St. Paul in the Hymn of Love.

Abstract
Paul in the Hymn of Love.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
