Hel e Ade: il mondo infero tra civiltà nordica e greca

There are several parallels between Hel, the goddess of death in Norse mythology, and Hades, the god of death in Greek mythology, with a particular focus on the characteristics of the underworld in both civilizations. Despite some differences, both realms of the underworld in Norse and Greek mythology are portrayed as places of pain and punishment, where the souls of the dead undergo a sort of judgment. Both civilizations attribute fundamental importance to the god or goddess who rules the underworld, respecting and fearing them at the same time. However, although both Norse and Greek civilizations developed the concept of an underworld realm, there are notable differences between the Norse underworld realm of Hel and the Greek realm of Hades.
