Théoda tells the story of a dramatic love that takes place in Valais (Switzerland). A love in which betrayal, family, death are mixed with the daily events of a village, or rather, several villages. Everything is observed and told through the innocent eyes of Marceline, the child protagonist. The writer S. Corinna Bille (Lausanne, 29 August 1912 - Sierre, 24 October 1979), one of the most representative voices of French-speaking Switzerland, shows in this, her first novel (1944), as in her other works, her remarkable storytelling ability, reserving a decisive role for the nature of his beloved Valais. This is what this work wants to focus on. It identifies how nature manages to establish a close relationship with Marceline and the other characters in different respects, thus assuming an important value in their lives.
