Il sito di Riviera Ruzante—Angolo Via Santa Chiara a Padova. Studio tipo-cronologico della ceramica dei settori 1 e 2 (fasi 1-3)

The site of Riviera Ruzante-Angolo Via Santa Chiara, in Padua, was the subject of preventive excavations in the years 2000/2001, during the construction of the new State Police vehicle workshop. The investigations brought to light a residential and craftwork district whose activation dates back, according to the excavators' proposal, between the end of the 9th and the beginning of the 8th century B.C., i.e. to the formative phase of the proto-urban centre of Padua. The present work consists of the typochronological study of a batch of ceramic materials from sectors 1 and 2, related to artisanal activities, with the aim of clarifying the chronological and cultural framing of the site within the broader scenario of the proto-urbanisation of Padua.  In particular, materials from phases 1-3 will be studied, corresponding to the site's activation phases (phases 1 and 2) and its maximum floruit (phase 3).

Il sito di Riviera Ruzante-Angolo Via Santa Chiara, a Padova, è stato oggetto di scavi preventivi negli anni 2000/2001, in occasione della costruzione della nuova officina autoveicoli della Polizia di Stato. Le indagini hanno messo in luce un quartiere abitativo e artigianale la cui attivazione risale, secondo la proposta degli scavatori, tra la fine del IX e l’inizio dell’VIII secolo a.C., ovvero alla fase formativa del centro protourbano di Padova. Il presente lavoro prevede lo studio tipocronologico di un lotto di materiali ceramici proveniente dai settori 1 e 2, connessi ad attività artigianali, con l’obiettivo di precisare l’inquadramento cronologico e culturale del sito, nel più ampio scenario della protourbanizzazione di Padova.  In particolare, verranno studiati i materiali delle fasi 1-3, corrispondenti alle fasi di attivazione del sito (fasi 1 e 2) e al suo massimo floruit (fase 3).
