Scabies is an ectoparasitic dermatosis caused by Sarcoptes scabiei var. hominis and poses a public health concern worldwide. Permethrin is considered the first line treatment for scabies in many countries Ivermectin represent an interesting oral therapeutic alternative. SCRATCH study is a non-profit Cluster randomised Clinical trial conducted in France which directly compare the two treatment. The primary outcome is: Complete healing of skin lesion and disappearance of pruritus for the whole cluster at day 28. For the study were recrutited 1092 people and 972 made up the per protocol population. conclusion. Ivermectin performed worse than Permethrin and didn't reach the non-inferiority thresholds.
