The COVID-19 pandemic had an impact on not only people's lives but also businesses around the world from a variety of perspectives. The goal of this Master thesis is to investigate the transformation of the risk management process during and after the pandemic, to identify effective mitigating actions and build resilience in global supply chains, and to examine the role of digital transformation in the previously mentioned environment. The objectives of the work are achieved by combining a literature review with the author's practical experience gained through an internship at Alpha. The relevant information was obtained through an in-depth analysis of the available body of knowledge in the fields of risk management and digitalization, followed by a practical approach based on the author's experience and various interviews conducted within the company. Relevant stakeholders contributed information about the lessons learned and the path through the COVID-19 pandemic, which was critical for this work and is summarized in the case study. Finally, the Master Thesis includes a summary of the main findings from the theoretical background, the results of the two projects carried out at Alpha, and future recommendations for risk management and digitalization for businesses operating in uncertain environments.
