Since its birth back in the 60s, video has become the main medium to document the protests of an entire decade and becoming a new way to create art. Video was a medium born from television, but soon it has detatched from that, and was defined the "anti-television". But what about nowadays? Can the video be still conceived as a vehicle for protests and creation of art? In order to answer to these questions, I've analyzed in my thesis the works of five artists: Oliver Ressler, Carlos Motta, Zanny Begg, Silvia Moro and Pippa Bacca. All of them share the same generation, but they are born and raised in different countries and continents, they face in their art different topic with their own language. They seem so far among them, but they have in common something: the use of the video to express their protests and their art.

Abstract
They seem so far among them, but they have in common something: the use of the video to express their protests and their art.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
