Un confronto fra i sistemi educativi professionali in Germania e in Italia dal punto di vista migratorio.

The following thesis work presents itself as a comparison of the educational systems of two specific countries, Italy and Germany, which exhibit similarities and differences in the organization of primary, secondary, and tertiary education. In comparing the two educational systems, the focus is primarily on investigating the origins of educational inequalities, aiming to understand the factors that contribute to them. One of the main research questions concerns the responsibilities that can be attributed to the educational system in defining inequalities, as its organization either allows or restricts the freedom of the student to choose their educational path. In this perspective, understanding the social background of the individual is equally relevant, as it, along with the educational system, can significantly influence educational outcomes and, therefore, educational inequality. The objective of the thesis is therefore to corroborate or, conversely, refute the hypothesis that educational systems play a significant role in the genesis of educational inequalities.Additionally, a depiction of the two educational systems under examination will be provided, focusing more on the organization of education at the secondary, post-secondary, and tertiary levels. Particular attention is placed on the so-called VET system, which refers to vocational education and training.

Il seguente lavoro di tesi si presenta come una comparazione dei sistemi educativi di due Paesi specifici, l’Italia e la Germania, i quali presentano similitudini e differenze nell’organizzazione dell’istruzione primaria, secondaria e terziaria. Nel confronto tra i due sistemi educativi si indaga, soprattutto, l’origine delle diseguaglianze educative, al fine di provare a comprendere quali siano i fattori che le determinano. Una delle principali domande di ricerca riguarda proprio le responsabilità che si possono attribuire al sistema educativo nel definire le ineguaglianze, dal momento che la sua organizzazione permette o meno la libertà dello studente di scegliere il proprio percorso educativo. In questa prospettiva risulta altrettanto rilevante conoscere il contesto sociale di provenienza dell’individuo, poiché questo, insieme al sistema educativo, può notevolmente influire sui traguardi educativi e, pertanto, sull’ineguaglianza educativa. L’obiettivo della tesi è pertanto quello di avvalorare o, viceversa, controbattere, l’ipotesi secondo cui i sistemi educativi assumono un ruolo rilevante nella genesi delle ineguaglianze educative. Si fornirà, inoltre, una rappresentazione dei due sistemi educativi presi in esame, concentrandosi maggiormente sull’organizzazione dell’educazione a livello secondario, post-secondario e terziario. Si pone una particolare attenzione verso il sistema cosiddetto VET, vale a dire l’educazione e formazione professionale.
