Delitto, Castigo e Content: linguaggi e funzione del genere True Crime in televisione e sui social media

The idea is to analyze True Crime products (nonfiction series, tv shows, news) in order to find a pattern that repeats itself in the way the genre communicates its stories. The document will also provide the reader a dive into the stereotypes and the characters that tend to recur in these narratives, along with a study and thoughts (supported by experts and academics) on the utility of a so controversial genre. Is True Crime a useful tool to understand and educate society? Is it mainly an infotainment form that leads to the spectacularization of private tragedies?

L'idea prevede di analizzare i prodotti True Crime (es. docu-serie, programmi televisivi di servizio, telegiornali...) per trovare lo stile con cui questo genere comunica le sue storie. L'elaborato permette al lettore di immergersi nel mondo della cronaca nera, tra stereotipi e personaggi presenti e ricorrenti, oltre a fornire uno studio e delle riflessioni (supportati da esperti e accedemici) sull'utilità di un genere così controverso. Il True Crime può essere uno strumento utile ai fini di educare la società, o resta prevalentemente una forma di infotainment che banalizza e spettacolarizza tragedie private?
