IL RITORNO AL POTERE DEL REGIME TALEBANO: FOCUS SULLA CONDIZIONE DELLE DONNE AFGHANE.

After more than twenty years of presence in the territory, the military troops present, especially the Americans, leave Afghan soil. This decision opens the way to the resumption of power of the Taliban regime that immediately requires a return to the rules and limits imposed by Sharia law. Obviously, the population and in particular Afghan women are the main victims of this situation. In fact, right from the start there was a massive violation of rights and a setback in the progress that had been achieved over the years. Important was the role that, over the years, the presence of the Western forces in the Afghan territory. The latter, arrived in the early 2000s with the aim of freeing Afghanistan from the presence of the Taliban oppression, failed to bring peace and stability, Twhich they made themselves bearers of. Over the years, what has prevailed, and has not determined the achievement of the objectives underlying the mission in Afghanistan, have been the national geopolitical interests of the Western forces involved. Furthermore, the subjugation that international organizations, such as the UN and NATO, had to suffer from the military forces, especially the Americans was decisive: they imposed their authority, limiting the freedom of intervention of the international institutions themselves. We therefore try to examine the weight and influence that the presence of Western forces and international organizations had in determining the return to power by the Taliban regime in 2021 and how the position of women has changed, following the retreat of rights, within Afghan society.

Dopo più di vent'anni di presenza nel territorio, le truppe militari presenti, soprattutto statunitensi, abbandonano il suolo afghano. Questa decisione apre la strada alla ripresa del potere del regime Talebano che fin da subito impone un ritorno alle regole e ai limiti imposti dalla Sharia. Ovviamente, la popolazione e in particolare le donne afghane sono le principali vittime di questa situazione. Infatti, fin da subito si è assistito ad una massiccia violazione dei diritti e ad una battuta d'arresto nei progressi che negli anni erano stati conquistati. Rilevante fu il ruolo che ebbe, negli anni, la presenza nel territorio afghano delle forze occidentali. Quest'ultime, arrivate nei primi anni 2000 con lo scopo di liberare l'Afghanistan dalla presenza dell'oppressione talebana, non sono riuscite a portare la pace e la stabilità, di cui si facevano portatori. Nel corso degli anni ciò che ha prevalso, e non ha determinato il raggiungimento degli obiettivi alla base della missione in Afghanistan, sono stati gli interessi geopolitici nazionali delle forze occidentali coinvolte. Inoltre, decisiva fu la soggezione che le organizzazioni internazionali, quali Onu e Nato, dovettero subire da parte delle forze militari, soprattutto statunitensi, che imposero la loro autorità, limitando la libertà di intervento delle istituzioni internazionali stesse. Si cerca, dunque, di esaminare il peso e l’influenza che la presenza delle forze occidentali e degli organismi internazionali ebbe nel determinare il ritorno al potere da parte del regime talebano nel 2021 e come la posizione delle donne sia cambiata, a seguito del retrocedere dei diritti, all’interno della società afghana.
