BREVETTI E INVENZIONI A VENEZIA IN ETA' MODERNA : LA LEGGE DEL 1474 E LA SUA PRATICA APPLICAZIONE

The thesis is aimed at analyzing in detail the Venetian law of 1474 on inventions. In the course of the elaboration will be placed in relief the essential requisites previewed from the law, in particular the novelty and the uselfuness of the invention, and the modalities of application of the licenses will be evidenced. The aim is to explain the importance of this decree, the starting point of the development of industrial property in the centuries of the modern age. It will also give space to a deepening of the theme of migration flows, highlighting the vision of the Serenissima towards the latter. The elaborated, then, will be concentrated in the examination of two types of mastery: hydraulic engineering, with the construction of wells and hydraulic pumps, and art of textile dyeing. In the final part we will retrace the salient features of the decree that laid the foundations of the regulation of patents came, between ups and downs, to the present day.

La tesi è volta ad analizzare in dettaglio la legge veneziana del 1474 in materia di invenzioni. Nel corso dell'elaborato saranno posti in rilievo i requisiti essenziali previsti dalla legge, in particolare la novità e l’utilità dell'invenzione, e saranno evidenziate le modalità di richiesta delle patenti. L'obiettivo è spiegare l’importanza di questo decreto, punto di partenza dello sviluppo della proprietà industriale nei secoli dell'età moderna. Si darà spazio anche ad un approfondimento circa il tema dei flussi migratori, mettendo in luce la visione della Serenissima verso questi ultimi. L’elaborato, poi, si concentrerà nell’esame di due tipologie di maestrie: l’ingegneria idraulica, con la costruzione di pozzi e pompe idrauliche, e l’arte di tintura tessile. Nella parte finale si ripercorreranno i tratti salienti del decreto che ha gettato le fondamenta della disciplina dei brevetti giunta, tra alterne vicende, sino ai giorni nostri.
