Subcutaneous access through hypodermoclysis and drug administration with boluses allows palliative care patients to be treated pharmacologically at home when venous access is unavailable. Although these practices were used in the past, many of them have fallen into disuse. Nowadays, their use is known especially at a territorial level and although little known these techniques are supported by evidence in the literature that promotes their adoption.
L’accesso sottocutaneo attraverso l’ipodermoclisi e la somministrazione di farmaci con boli permette di trattare farmacologicamente pazienti in cure palliative a domicilio quando l’accesso venoso è irreperibile. Sebbene queste pratiche fossero utilizzate in passato, molte di esse sono cadute in disuso. Al giorno d’oggi se ne conosce l’impiego soprattutto a livello territoriale e sebbene poco conosciute queste tecniche sono supportate da evidenze nella letteratura che ne promuovono l'adozione.
