The dissertation is my own proposal of translation from Italian to English of Silvia Serreli’s “Tea” books, specifically “A chi piacciono le verdure?”, “Perchè devo chiedere scusa?”, “E se non ci riesco?”. The aim is to face and explore the challenges and the concerns that I encountered, and eventually solved. Several problems manifested: finding the equivalent of certain expressions and words that in English are not so common; choosing between different words and finding the appropriate terminology for the audience aged four and up; deciding which names to change from Italian to English and vice versa; addressing the cultural and linguistic gap to make it accessible to an English-speaking audience. The dissertation explains the decisions made and the solutions implemented during the process, complementing the work with the translation theory.
