Propuesta de traducción y análisis del manual de medicina "Metabolismo y Nutrición. Endocrinología"

The main focus of this thesis is the translation of a medical manual from Spanish to Italian, and it consists of five chapters. The first chapter focuses on discussions about the concepts of specialized translation and languages of specialization. Here, the aim is to establish a solid theoretical framework by exploring and analyzing existing literature to underpin the translation practices applied in the subsequent chapters. The second chapter, centered on characterizing and classifying medical texts and scientific language, aims to lay the theoretical and methodological groundwork for the linguistic and translation analysis that will be developed later. In the third chapter, the source text along with the proposed translation into Italian is presented. The fourth chapter introduces the CAT tools that were used (SDL Trados, Sketch Engine, among others) and all the steps followed in the development of the translation. Finally, the last chapter provides a detailed analysis of the source text and, based on its semantic, morphosyntactic, and stylistic characteristics, the translation analysis is carried out.

El presente trabajo de tesis tiene como enfoque principal la traducción de un manual de medicina del español al italiano, y consta de cinco capítulos. El primer capítulo se enfoca en las discusiones sobre los conceptos de traducción especializada y las lenguas de especialidad. Aquí, se pretende establecer un marco teórico sólido, explorando y analizando la literatura existente para fundamentar la práctica traductológica aplicada en los capítulos subsiguientes. El segundo capítulo, centrado en la caracterización y clasificación de los textos propios de la medicina y el lenguaje científico, tiene como objetivo sentar las bases teóricas y metodológicas para el análisis lingüístico y traductológico que se desarrollará posteriormente. En el tercer capítulo, se presenta el texto origen junto con la propuesta de traducción al italiano. En el cuarto capítulo se introducen las herramientas CAT utilizadas (SDL Trados, Sketch Engine, entre otras) y todos los pasos seguidos en el desarrollo de la traducción. Finalmente, en el último capítulo se hace un análisis detallado del texto de partida y, a partir de sus características semánticas, morfosintácticas y estilísticas se lleva a cabo el análisis traductológico.
