The efficient management of hospital beds plays a crucial role in optimizing resources and providing high-quality patient care. This study proposes an innovative approach to optimize hospital bed flow and improve resource utilization through the use of discrete-event simulation and flexible patient allocation solutions. Through the use of specialized simulation software, the complexity of logistical processes related to hospital bed management was analyzed. Different bed storage strategies were developed in order to maximize operational efficiency and ensure rapid availability when needed. In addition, in order to optimize the allocation of patients in hospital wards, an innovative algorithm was introduced that takes into account the proximity between patients in order to facilitate the work of health care personnel and reduce the time of intervention. This approach aims to improve the patient experience by reducing waiting times and ensuring more timely and personalized care. The results obtained show a significant improvement in hospital system performance, with increased efficiency in bed utilization and reduced waiting times. This study provides a solid basis for the implementation of more efficient and patient-oriented hospital bed management practices, helping to optimize resources and improve the overall quality of care provided.

Abstract
This study provides a solid basis for the implementation of more efficient and patient-oriented hospital bed management practices, helping to optimize resources and improve the overall quality of care provided.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
