This thesis investigates sports from a sociological perspective attentive to the gender dimension. In particular, this work aims to reflect on conflictual transformations in women's soccer by delving into a local case study. Moreover, this research work explores through qualitative methods the lived experiences and the possible presence of forms of resistance of young women belonging to the Quadrato Meticcio women's five-a-side soccer team in Padua, Italy. The first chapter delves into the gender perspective and the conceptualizations developed from it. In addition, space is reserved for reflection on the dimension of the body associated with gender. In the second chapter, we focus on the connections that unite gender and sport. In particular, the focus turns to the role of sport in the constitution of gender identity, as an arena of resistance and as a space in which to reproduce or challenge hegemonic gender symbols. Finally, in the third chapter, the empirical work carried out is addressed, the research path is described, and the most significant findings are analyzed.

Abstract
This thesis investigates sports from a sociological perspective attentive to the gender dimension. In particular, this work aims to reflect on conflictual transformations in women's soccer by delving into a local case study. Finally, in the third chapter, the empirical work carried out is addressed, the research path is described, and the most significant findings are analyzed.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
