Interactive multimedia installations constitute an important artistic expression of the last 50 years years. In these installations, the intervention of engineers is necessary for their development: in fact, it involves works with a high technological content (software and hardware). The CSC of DEI has developed, over the course from the second half of the twentieth century, various multimedia works together with artists. However, these installations have a very limited duration in time, a few years at most, due to of the rapid obsolescence of the hardware devices used (often laboratory prototypes) and of the lack of software maintenance. This thesis proposes a new approach: instead of reactivating the works using the same devices or by replacing the original components with their digital counterparts, the aim is to virtualize the former. In this way it will also be possible to enjoy the works via the web.

Abstract
In this way it will also be possible to enjoy the works via the web.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
