Background. Obesity is a chronic disease linked to many additional illnesses, like metabolic, functional, and physical issues .The physiology of many biological systems is crucially regulated by circadian rhythms. A substantial body of research indicates that nutritional patterns influence several physiological functions. It also has an impact on health, since it is a key factor in obesity and its associated comorbidities. One aspect of physical fitness that has to do with health is cardio-respiratory fitness. It illustrates how the respiratory and circulatory systems supply oxygen when engaging in physical exercise. The gold standard for measuring cardio-respiratory fitness is maximal oxygen consumption (VO2max) during a cardio pulmonary exercise testing (CPET). Aims. This study aims to analyze the results of CPET performed before surgery in patients with obesity candidates for bariatric surgery at the Sports Medicine Unit in Padua University Hospital. The results of CPET will be analyzed comparing clusters of patients demonstrating different eating patterns. Eating patterns were modeled according to a 24-hour period chrono-nutritional patterns that describes the probability of having contacts of foods according to time. This analysis may help in the evaluation and management of patients with obesity by possible correlation between eating patterns and cardio respiratory fitness. Abstract
