Diritti Urbani e Mascolinità Tossica: Esplorazione delle Intrecciate Dinamiche di Esclusione e Autocensura nella Città Contemporanea

The following research paper sought to explore two examples of the often underestimated effects that today's patriarchal culture has on those who experience it directly. The choice to consider two consequences stems from the desire to want to represent both the experience of the female gender and that of the male gender, thus highlighting how an interconnection persists between issues that are seemingly different, but which in fact have their roots in the same ground: patriarchal culture and the gender roles imposed by it . Specifically, the issue of the right to the city, linked to the perception of urban security, and the dynamics of toxic masculinity, linked instead to social expectations and pressures, were considered. The contents of the thesis are derived from the elaboration of a complementary work of bibliographic research and testimony collection that took place through a targeted survey through interviews.

Con il seguente lavoro di ricerca si sono voluti esplorare due esempi di effetti, spesso sottovalutati, che la cultura patriarcale odierna ha su chi la vive in maniera diretta. La scelta di prendere in considerazione due conseguenze nasce dalla volontà di voler rappresentare tanto l’esperienza del genere femminile quanto quella del genere maschile, evidenziando, così, come persista un’interconnessione tra problematiche apparentemente diverse, ma che in realtà fondano le radici nello stesso terreno: la cultura patriarcale e i ruoli di genere da essa imposti . Nello specifico, sono state prese in considerazione la questione del diritto alla città, legata alla percezione della sicurezza urbana, e le dinamiche di mascolinità tossica, collegate invece ad aspettative e pressioni sociali. I contenuti della tesi derivano dall’elaborazione di un lavoro complementare di ricerca bibliografica e di raccolta di testimonianze avvenuta tramite un’indagine mirata attraverso interviste.
