Modern zoos have been playing a crucial role in the conservation of endangered species, through both in situ and ex situ projects, following welfare guidelines and through updated research on species-specific needs, such as nutritional requirements, behaviour and enrichment programs. This thesis focuses in particular on the management of lemur species in captive conditions, on conservation projects dedicated to the preservation of these species, and on the husbandry techniques used in zoological parks aiming to provide the best care to the animals.

Abstract
Modern zoos have been playing a crucial role in the conservation of endangered species, through both in situ and ex situ projects, following welfare guidelines and through updated research on species-specific needs, such as nutritional requirements, behaviour and enrichment programs. This thesis focuses in particular on the management of lemur species in captive conditions, on conservation projects dedicated to the preservation of these species, and on the husbandry techniques used in zoological parks aiming to provide the best care to the animals.File in questo prodotto:
