With my thesis I want to retrace the fortune of Aby Warburg’s last unfinished work: the Mnemosyne Atlas. The genesis of this work covered the span of two years, from 1927 until the sudden death of its author, in 1929, which was the cause of the state of incompleteness of the project itself. Following Warburg’s disappearance, the panels that made up the Atlas were "dismantled" and, as a result, the work became the exclusive reserve of those scholars who had access to the documentary evidence preserved at the Warburg Institute. The "rebirth" of the Atlas began in the 90s, when the panels were rebuilt and exhibited, first in Vienna and Hamburg (Daedalus version) and later in Italy. After the publication of a catalogue that collected the exhibition materials, the volume edition of Mnemosyne was elaborated, which in Italy was published in 2002 by the publisher Nino Aragno.

Abstract
After the publication of a catalogue that collected the exhibition materials, the volume edition of Mnemosyne was elaborated, which in Italy was published in 2002 by the publisher Nino Aragno.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
