Does admiration for evil exist? How is it declined in practice? Is it possible to hold individuals who perform negative actions up as models of their own behaviour? These are the central questions of this research: the aim is to illustrate how the admiration mechanism is not only related to good, but can also be explained when it refers to evil. In order to be able to proceed with this discussion on an adequate conceptual basis, Linda Trinkaus Zagzebski's theory of moral exemplarism has been analysed in depth, in order to be able to understand the philosophical coordinates of the concept of admiration, and the role that examples hold because they highlight a certain attitude that the subject deems worthy of emulation.

Abstract
Does admiration for evil exist? How is it declined in practice? Is it possible to hold individuals who perform negative actions up as models of their own behaviour? These are the central questions of this research: the aim is to illustrate how the admiration mechanism is not only related to good, but can also be explained when it refers to evil. In order to be able to proceed with this discussion on an adequate conceptual basis, Linda Trinkaus Zagzebski's theory of moral exemplarism has been analysed in depth, in order to be able to understand the philosophical coordinates of the concept of admiration, and the role that examples hold because they highlight a certain attitude that the subject deems worthy of emulation.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
