This research aims to analyze the differences in language learning between monolingual and bilingual children through various recent studies. It's becoming crucial to understand the implications of bilingualism on language development, given the rapid globalization we are experiencing. Through several experiments, it is clear that there are different brain responses in bilingual infants compared to monolingual ones. It has also been found that exposure to multiple languages affects linguistic processing already in the first months of life. By comparing adults as well, the complexity of the cognitive mechanisms that bilinguals use to manage the use of two languages has emerged.

Abstract
This research aims to analyze the differences in language learning between monolingual and bilingual children through various recent studies. It's becoming crucial to understand the implications of bilingualism on language development, given the rapid globalization we are experiencing. Through several experiments, it is clear that there are different brain responses in bilingual infants compared to monolingual ones. It has also been found that exposure to multiple languages affects linguistic processing already in the first months of life. By comparing adults as well, the complexity of the cognitive mechanisms that bilinguals use to manage the use of two languages has emerged.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
