Verbal and non-verbal communication are two fundamental elements in psychological studies. The former is characterised by the use of the verbal code and is associated with the conventional meaning of words. It is a system that can also be improved by following extra rules such as alternating turns and equally distributed speaking space. Non-verbal communication, on the other hand, is the ability to supplement, extend and sometimes replace the verbal content of a communication. Non-verbal signals make it possible to infer attitudes, desires and intentions not implicitly expressed by the interlocutor. Three systems are involved here: the vocal system, the kinesic system and the proxemic system. The first is based on elements such as tone, tempo and intensity of voice, the second involves gaze and gesticulation while the third refers to interpersonal space. This thesis is based on the verbal and non-verbal communication of the youth football coach. The figure of the coach can be very important in the education and training of children, especially in the adolescent period. The coach and his manner can influence the approach to sport - and not only that - of young people and this has important consequences for their future.

Abstract
The coach and his manner can influence the approach to sport - and not only that - of young people and this has important consequences for their future.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
