This thesis explores the pervasive influence of patriarchal structures within Western Cultural Narratives, focusing on Myths, Symbols, and Motifs that perpetuate gender inequality and gender-based violence. It examines historical and contemporary texts, Media, and cultural artifacts to reveal how patriarchal ideologies are embedded and sustained in societal narratives within Western Culture. Key feminist theories, starting with Simone de Beauvoir but also including Rosi Braidotti and Teresa de Lauretis as well as contemporary scholars, provide the analytical framework for deconstructing these narratives. The research aims to understand the mechanisms of patriarchy in storytelling and propose strategies for rewriting these patriarchal narratives to foster a more equitable cultural discourse and unlearning Patriarchy.
