The study integrates wall stratigraphy and archaeometry of binders with Building Information Modeling (BIM) to date the cultural heritage site of Oratorio di San Michele in Padova. This approach employs detailed parametric modeling in Revit to reconstruct the stratigraphy of walls and comparing it with the analyzed mortar samples using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD). Our methodology allows for precise identification of the construction phases and historical modifications of the site. By selectively determining the oldest mortar samples suitable for carbon dating, the study offers new chronological insights into the building's history. This case study exemplifies how BIM can be leveraged as a transformative tool in the field of archaeological research and heritage preservation, providing a replicable model for similar heritage sites globally. The results demonstrate the potential of integrating technological and traditional archaeological methods to achieve more accurate and comprehensive understandings of historical structures.

Abstract
The results demonstrate the potential of integrating technological and traditional archaeological methods to achieve more accurate and comprehensive understandings of historical structures.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
