Il Conceptus Cosmicus di Filosofia come Chiave di Lettura del Sistema della Ragion Pura: Unità di Ragione Teoretica e Ragione Pratica sul Fondamento della Realtà Oggettiva della Libertà

The aim of the master’s thesis work is to demonstrate how attributing objective reality to freedom enables Kant to bring the relation between theoretical and practical reason to light. Once the objective reality of freedom is established, it can be defined as “the keystone of the whole structure of a system of pure reason, even of speculative reason.” It is precisely due to this crucial role assigned to freedom that Kant will be able to affirm the unity and continuity of theoretical and practical reason, thus showing how reason constitutes a system within which the theoretical use is limited, there it extends the practical use. Finally, it is shown how attributing the keystone role to freedom appears to rearticulate a new shade of the concept of the system of pure reason in light of the cosmopolitan concept of philosophy (conceptus cosmicus) as the science of the relation of all cognition to the essential ends of human reason. It is within the cosmopolitan concept of philosophy that theory and practice are unified, forming a single system where the intersection between the realm of nature and the realm of freedom is precisely the concept of freedom; this is due to the fact that the idea of freedom is the only one revealed to us through a fact of reason.

L’obbiettivo del lavoro di tesi magistrale è quello di mostrare come l’attribuire realtà oggettiva alla libertà sia ciò che permette a Kant di portare alla luce il rapporto tra ragione teoretica e ragione pratica. Una volta attestata la realtà oggettiva della libertà essa potrà essere definita come “la chiave di volta dell’intera struttura del sistema della ragione, anche di quella speculativa”. Sarà proprio in virtù di questo ruolo di cui la libertà è investita che Kant potrà affermare l’unità e la continuità di ragione teoretica e di ragione pratica, mostrando dunque come la ragione sia un sistema all’interno del quale laddove l’uso teoretico viene limitato, lì si estende l’uso pratico. Infine, viene mostrato come l’attribuire alla libertà il ruolo di chiave di volta sembri riarticolare una nuova sfumatura del concetto di sistema della ragione pura alla luce del concetto cosmico di filosofia (conceptus cosmicus) come scienza del rapporto di ogni conoscenza con i fini essenziali della ragione umana. È proprio nel concetto cosmico di filosofia che teoria e prassi vengono unificate formando un unico sistema, dove il punto di incontro tra regno della natura e regno della libertà sarà proprio il concetto di libertà; ciò in virtù del fatto che l’idea di libertà è l’unica idea che ci viene rivelata mediante un fatto della ragione.
