The subject of this dissertation is the analysis of the massacre of Babij Jar from different points of view. First, all the historical facts connected to the massacre are explained and then the main concept the main concept of memory is considered, related to a certain historical event. This dissertation thanks to studies on Shoah during Soviet Union period led by Antonella Salomoni, professor of History in the University of Bologna, and to the contribution of Marianne Hirsch with the idea of postmemory, that is explained in his work The Generation of Postmemory. In this work it will be discussed the Massacre of Babij Jar firstly from a general point of view and then from the perspective of memory through literature, music, cinematographic art and architecture.
Il lavoro di ricerca proposto in questo elaborato ha come finalità l’analisi della strage di Babij Jar, non solo da un punto di vista storico e geopolitico ma anche considerando il concetto di memoria in relazione ad un determinato evento storico. Questa tesi è stata resa possibile grazie agli studi condotti in merito alla Shoah in Unione Sovietica da parte di Antonella Salomoni, docente di storia presso l’Università di Bologna e al contributo di Marianne Hirsch, attraverso il concetto di postmemoria presentato all’interno della sua opera The Generation of Postmemory. All’interno dell’elaborato verrà dapprima presentato l’evento a livello storico e geopolitico, per poi considerare la memoria dell’evento stesso attraverso i canali della letteratura, della musica, dell’arte cinematografica e dell’architettura alla luce delle considerazioni sulla postmemoria elaborate da Marianne Hirsch.
